Fusion reggae artiste Stacey Mirander is well aware of the societal ills that exist in today’s world. But ,with her latest single, Mankind, she simply wants to enlighten her listeners and simultaneously imbue the world with hope of a brighter tomorrow, despite the pervasive doom-and-gloom choking international headlines.

Mankind is a song about social and societal enlightenment, how people have changed, how the world has shifted and how the truth got twisted. I have realised first-hand the harsh reality of the fictitiousness of mankind and it has become quite hard to ignore,” Stacey Mirander said.

“It is fair to say we have seen where fairness is lost, how the justice system is broken, and how we have grown unkind to our own kind.”

The Mankind song, released on her own I Am Stacey Ann Music imprint, is produced by Solomon ‘Triple Ess’ Salmon. It presents a simple and optimistic view of the world, highlighting its beauty and the joy of human connection, while challenging the human race to do more.

She croons: “ Never sell out your soul. Never give up control. Honour your father and mother. The world is yours … .

The track carries the emotional weight of experience but delivers it with elegance and strength. The lyrics go: “ And even though we are one kind, still this world can be so unkind/You can never diminish a natural kind/You need to know yourself, mankind.”

“This line hits the paradox of humanity ... we are connected by blood, by spirit, by earth, and yet we wound each other so easily. We need to remind ourselves of realness, authenticity, truth, and this can’t be erased, no matter how much the world tries to suppress or distort it,” she declared confidently.

Stacey Mirander said that the target demographic of the song is universal, from the struggling family’s one pay cheque, from disaster to the homeless to the super-wealthy.

“We have grown greedy as a society with hands clenched instead of open. We are now at a point where even compassion feels complicated. Living pay cheque to pay cheque is not just a financial struggle — it’s an emotional and psychological weight that never fully lets up. It’s the constant fear that one flat tire, one ER visit, one missed shift, one sick child… will tip everything over,” she said.

Mankind is now available on all digital streaming platforms.
