Macka Diamond makes Ghana debut this weekend
Jamaican dancehall artiste Macka Diamond is thrilled to be heading to Ghana this week for a special performance in Accra, the capital, on Saturday night. The veteran entertainer has toured extensively across the world and has performed in Africa before, but this will be her first time in Ghana.
“I’ve always wanted to visit Ghana; it’s a bucket list place for sure. So I will take the opportunity to really enjoy the country while there. I’ve been to Uganda, Kenya and South Africa in the past, so the Motherland isn’t new – but Ghana is special,” Macka explained
She will be performing at the exclusive launch of H Music Studio, an African-owned international cloud-based music platform and one-stop app for artistes and creators. Macka also plans to use the platform to distribute new material later this year.
“There is new music coming soon that I will be working on with the team at H Music, so listen out for more of that as well. While in Ghana, I will be looking at doing some work on an upcoming afro beat collaboration, so I’m also excited about that but won’t say too much just yet,” she added
Macka Diamond is a global hitmaker who has seen songs like Bun Him, Dye Dye and Play Tune top charts in international markets and has even been translated into French and Spanish, based on the popularity in those markets. The artiste has recently released another TikTok collaboration with content creator 1 Ziggy Lifestyle called Low Life. Macka’s last collaboration with TikTok creator Derrick, What Can Go So, went viral both on and off the platform.
Her most recent appearance in Jamaica was at the official Independence Grand Gala after-party at the National Arena on August 6. She also recently performed in Canada at the Calgary Reggae Festival and at the opening of Diva’s Restaurant in Windsor, Ontario.
