New Parliament gets under way
Members of the new House of Representatives are expected to turn out in their numbers today for their first working day at Gordon House, more than two weeks after they took the Oath of Allegiance.
The parliamentary agenda for today includes statements from Olivia Grange, minister of culture, gender, entertainment and sport, and Pearnel Charles Jr, minister of labour and social security.
A bill titled The Criminal Records (Rehabilitation of Offenders) (Amendment) Act, 2025 will also be tabled by the Government side.
In addition to these items, Parliament is expected to table four reports of investigation, three of which are accompanied by indicative rulings.
The reports were sent to Speaker of the House of Representatives Juliet Holness, Senate President Tom Tavares-Finson and Clerk to the Houses of Parliament Colleen Lowe on September 25.
