Tesha Miller awaits outcome of appeal
The Court of Appeal heard a case from incarcerated convict Tesha Miller, who is seeking to quash his conviction for the 2008 murder of Douglas Chambers, the then-chairman of the Jamaica Urban Transit Company, but the court has reserved judgment.
Miller was sentenced in January 2020 to roughly 39 years in prison for accessory before the fact to murder and accessory after the fact to murder.
SSL executives to face court
SSL founder Hugh Croskery, his daughter Sarah Meany, and former CEO Zachary Harding who were arrested and charged with multiple criminal offences in late December 2025 as part of the multibillion-dollar Stocks & Securities Limited (SSL) fraud investigation – scheduled to appear in court on January 26, 2026.
Jolyan Silvera murder case
Former MP Jolyan Silvera was denied bail as he awaits trial for the murder of his wife, Melissa Silvera, whose body was found at their Stony Hill, St Andrew home in November 2023. The Court of Appeal upheld the Supreme Court’s refusal, citing the seriousness of the allegations and strength of the Crown’s case, with the trial set to begin on January 12.
Gang trial with Tesha Miller
Tesha Miller, the alleged leader of the Klansman Gang, and 24 other alleged gang members, including a doctor, are awaiting trial. The trial was initially slated to start on January 7 but has been delayed.
Kacey-Ann Blair murder trial
Kacey-Ann Blair was remanded for the alleged murder of her husband, Constable Damien Blair, in Manchester in May 2023. Her trial is set for February 2, 2026.
Noel Maitland murder trial
The murder trial of Constable Noel Maitland, charged in the death of social media personality Donna-Lee Donaldson, began in May 2025 and continued through last year. The prosecution called more than 30 witnesses and the trial has already resumed this month.
The defence is to start its case on Monday.
Sagicor fraud trial
The multimillion-dollar fraud case involving four former Sagicor Bank employees – including former vice-president Alysia Moulton White, her sister Tricia Moulton, personal banker Malika McLeod, and client care officer Tishan Samuels –is set to continue in March 2026.
Ruel Reid fraud trial
The long-awaited multimillion-dollar fraud trial of former Education Minister Ruel Reid and co-accused – including former CMU president Fritz Pinnock, Reid’s wife Sharen Reid, their daughter Sharelle Reid, and JLP councillor Kim Brown Lawrence – is scheduled to continue on February 2.
Havendale cocaine bust
Five men charged in connection with a J$12-billion cocaine seizure in Havendale, St Andrew are scheduled to go on trial on February 16, 2026.
Leoda Bradshaw murder case
US Navy petty officer Leoda Bradshaw and co-accused, charged in connection with the abduction and murder of Parliamentarian Phillip Paulwell’s 10-month-old daughter, Sarayah Paulwell, and her 27-year-old mother, Toshyna Patterson – to return to court for plea and case management hearings in January.
The court has reserved dates between September 6 and November 3 for a possible trial.
Andre Ruddock murder case
Andre Ruddock faces charges with the 2021 murder of Taneka Gardner in the Pathways International Church saga. His trial is to start on September 16.
NCB executive rape case
National Commercial Bank (NCB) executive Dane Nicholson, charged in October 2025 with six counts of rape and two counts of grievous sexual assault – to return to the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on January 29.
Nicholson, who serves as head of NCB’s fraud prevention division, was released on J$1.2 million bail in September 2025.
East Kingston shooting
Corporal Mark Roye and Constable Kelby White, arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of three men in East Kingston, are scheduled to return to court on October 20
