Mind your own business

THE EDITOR, Madam:

Patrick Gallimore’s recent letter titled ‘US voting system is flawed’ published on February 8, commented on the worth of the US electoral college. This is a part of the mechanism the founders of the United States installed to ensure periodic re-electing of our governmental leaders.

I say, that in all the years I’ve been writing to The Gleaner, I hope I have never written anything that even had the slightest appearance of interfering with the Jamaican Government’s operation.

Why not? Because I am not a Jamaican, and how Jamaica runs its government is none of my business.

Now, if Mr Gallimore is a US citizen, my apologies; if not, then I suggest his comment is nothing more than another of my country’s political left’s inept talking points, and that he is no more than a parrot.

I suggest that on that point, he should follow my lead in the future and stay out of it.
