Saluting Nurses -International Nurses Day
The recent press briefing held on International Nurses Day, offered a unique platform for LASCO and the Nurses Association of Jamaica (NAJ) to celebrate the outstanding work of Jamaica’s dedicated nurses.
Under the 2017 theme — ‘Nurses: A Voice to Lead — Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals’, the briefing was attended by stakeholders in the industry to give a preview of the week's activities which will address pertinent issues affecting the nursing profession.
The event was attended by Sancia Bennett Templer, permanent secretary in the Ministry of Health; Peter Mark Chin, executive deputy chairman of LASCO Affiliated Companies and managing director of LASCO Distributors Ltd.; Philip Armstrong, chairman South East Regional Health Authority (SERHA); Marva Lawson-Byfield, chief nursing officer, Ministry of Health; and Janett Coore Farr, president of the Nurses Association of Jamaica.
