Sagicor to labour at community health centres islandwide on Labour Day
Over 500 Sagicor team members have registered to participate in the company's Labour Day projects scheduled for May 23.
This year, the company, through its charitable arm, Sagicor Foundation, will be focusing its efforts on improving the overall environment at eight community health centres across the island.
"At Sagicor, we understand and value the important role these community health centres play in the lives of hundreds of thousands of Jamaicans, and with health being a major priority for the Sagicor Foundation, we saw it as the opportune time to give back and have an even greater impact on the lives of so many," said Simone Walker, executive director, Sagicor Foundation, and vice president, group marketing, Sagicor Group Jamaica.
The national focus for Labour Day this year is health and education, which are also the two primary areas of work for Sagicor Foundation. This year's Labour Day theme is 'Ramp it Up, Fix it Up - Our Schools, Our Health Centres, Our Responsibility'.
The 500-strong 'Happy Sagicor Volunteers' will be spread across the following project sites on Labour Day: Black River Health Centre, St Elizabeth; Comprehensive Clinic, Kingston; Christian Pen Health Centre, Portmore, St Catherine; Deeside Health Centre, Trelawny; Duhaney Park Health Centre, Kingston; Mandeville Comprehensive Clinic, Manchester; St Ann's Bay Health Centre, St Ann; Whitehouse Health Centre, Westmoreland.
