Portmore woman charged with fraud after allegedly failing to provide headstones
A Portmore, St Catherine woman has been charged with fraud after allegedly collecting money and failing to provide headstones.
She is 31-year-old Tash Hylton, who has been charged with fraudulent conversion, non-delivery of goods and services on contract date, and misleading and deceptive conduct.
Her court date is to be finalised.
The police report that between April and July 2025, the accused, whose company prepares headstones, received a total of $200,000 via bank transfers to produce three headstones.
Hylton allegedly failed to complete the job and did not return the money.
The 78-year-old complainant reported the matter to police, prompting an investigation.
Hylton was subsequently arrested and charged.
