Issue: $88 billion to crush gangs!

THE EDITOR, Sir:
HOW RIDICULOUS can we get? This is nothing but a cynical attempt by greedy, thieving politicians to introduce more political tribalism. And as usual, we pay for it. How do we borrow that much when we are already too much in debt? Where does that leave us with the International Monetary Fund? Who spends this money? How much of it will be social engineering (excuses to give away taxpayers' money to criminals)?
These politicians know that Jamaica will actually cheer if we get this money to borrow. The freeness, begging mentality is now ingrained in our culture. They want this money to keep the ignorant masses hooked on their political largesse.
We know from four decades of 'Independence' that these politicians cannot be trusted. Why would we want to trust them with this money? They cannot do anything properly! They are not even able to resign from their job in the face of all that is indecent.
The way out of this is simple! Concentrate on the top three priorities: (1) Enforce the law. (2) Enforce the law. (3) Enforce the law. All other problems/priorities will resolve themselves. The people can take care of themselves.
Can someone with sense please stand up?
