Dream Weekend's last hurrah
Smirnoff Dream Weekend began on Friday, July 30, at Chances Negril. Smirnoff Flavours made its debut this year and has been hailed a grand success by promoters.
Christina Merchant from Mandeville, who attended last year's inaugural Dream Weekend, concludes, "If this party is so good, I can't wait to see what the others have in store! I'm already having a blast." Wayne Bowen, a regular on the party scene, also expressed his pleasure with the event. "For a first-time event, Flavours sell off!" he commented.
Next in the orgy of parties was Twisted Spirits mixology that featured special signature cocktails, and pounding beats from Coppershot, Crazy Neil and Johnny Kool, which kept the crowd moving.
High gear
When time came for Daydreams, the island's first all-white beach party, partygoers were in high gear. The venue was Long Bay Beach Park. One of the most popular events on the social calendar, it has earned the reputation of being a premium event. Promoters, Wright Image Entertainment, have raised the bar each year, and this instalment was no exception.
Afterwards, partygoers went directly to Heineken Yush for their taste of the '90s music to the present. Selections by DJs Delano, Jazzy T, Liquid and Coppershot disco were superb.
Xtreme Wet 'n' Wild was even more spectacular than expected. Entertainer Elephant Man floated around the pool, spraying partygoers with his massive water gun. Other celebrities including Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Wayne Marshall and Richie Loop, who opted to enjoy the happenings from inside the VIP lounge.
Heineken Beer Vibes, held at the Rainforest Negril on Sunday, August 1, was full of 'wicked' selections and dubs.
Monday, August 2, was time for Smirnoff Xclusive and it, too, lived up to expectations, with acrobats from the Aerial Artistry company in Florida delighting the crowd.
