Netballers lose again
Jamaica's Sunshine Girls completed a winless tour 'Down Under' when they were whipped 62-40 by New Zealand in the second and final 'Test' in Napier yesterday.
The Silver Ferns wrapped up the series 2-0. The Jamaicans has earlier lost 3-0 to Australia in a three-Test series.
The home team dominated the match leading 35-21 at half time and 48-33 at the end of the third quarter.
Goal shooter Romelda Aiken was again the leading scorer for Jamaica with 33 goals from 38 attempts. Anna Kay Griffith scored seven from 13.
New Zealand's experienced combination of Irene van Dyk and Maria Tutaia had far more attempts. Van Dyk sank 30 from 35 and Tutaia 24 of 31. Reserve goal shooter Daneka Wipiiti scored eight of 16 attempts.
Overall New Zealand scored 62 of 82 attempts while Jamaica were successful with 40 of 51 attempts.The Jamaican Sunshine Girls are due home tomorrow.
