WESTERN BUREAU:

One year after starting a business committed to bringing back 100 per cent Jamaican manufactured linen resort wear, Patrick and Katrin Casserly and Pat Wright had lots to celebrate Wednesday night at the Round Hill Gift Shop, Hanover.

The birth of Casserly's Schatzie Limited and the partnership with Jamaican designer Pat Wright of Wright Style seems to have been a success and this was evident from the kind of support they received from the large business community that turned out for their first anniversary celebration.

As tasty as the beverages and finger foods were, it was the garments, fashioned from versatile, stylish, cool yet elegant linen that dominated the conversations of guests.

The store, located at the legendary resort is based on a European-style shopping experience, with personalised service at the heart of the concept.

At Wednesday's party, it was obvious that the collection Patrick and Katrin Casserly unveiled a year ago had only got better.

There were more exciting additions to the pineapple logo section that boasts everything from souvenirs to gifts for birthday and other special occasions. And the Jamaican-made pottery, art and crafts by David Pinto, Margaret McGhie, Wassi Art, Harmony Hall and the Gallery of West Indian Art were all on show.

In the midst of all the extraordinarily beautiful inventory at The Round Hill Gift Shop and Boutique, there were famous and fabulous people including renowned interior designer, Michael Smith, famous for his redecoration of the White House for President Barack Obama who became president of the United States two years ago.
