WESTERN BUREAU:
A Montego Hills, St James, man, who allegedly chopped a woman during a June 28 dispute, has been ordered to return to the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on November 15.
Patrick Malcolm pleaded not guilty to unlawful wounding against Jacinth Geenas when he appeared in court on Monday.
When the matter was called up, it quickly became apparent to Resident Magistrate Sandria Wong-Small that the parties had been to court at least once previously.
Repeat complaint
"Mr Malcolm, have you been here before?" the RM asked.
"Yes, Your Honour," Malcolm admitted.
"Not the same complainant?" asked Wong-Small.
"Yes, Your Honour," the defendant answered.
Geenas subsequently told the court that the wounding incident took place some time after her safety had been threatened.
"On June 19, I got a threat and I went to the Montego Hills Police Station. After that, he (Malcolm) came to my house and chopped me with a machete," she explained.
Meanwhile, the prosecution admitted that the medical certificate was still outstanding from its case file.
The case was set for mention on November 15, and Malcolm was ordered to submit his fingerprints to the police.
