Big MoBay bounce for Home Solutions

WESTERN BUREAU:Since the establishment of the Fairview Shopping Centre, several new businesses have come to the fore in Montego Bay, creating an indelible mark with quality service.
One such business is Home Solutions, which was established in Negril in 2000. The company has nine locations islandwide and is taking the construction sector in Montego Bay by storm with its exquisitely styled UPVC and aluminium products.
"We produce a variety of windows to include octagons, aluminium bronze, casement and double-slider," said Owen Mason, one of two sales representatives at the Montego Bay location.
"Also, we have a wide variety of high-quality doors, alongside shower enclosure, corner showers, and just about every kind of fittings a householder might need."
For the company principals, the decision to take Home Solutions to Montego Bay just over five years ago has turned out to be a masterstroke. In addition to coinciding with the construction boom between 2006 and 2011, the location has given their business a major bounce.
TOP LOCATION
"Montego Bay is now our top location islandwide. We are doing extremely well … . The decision to establish the Montego Bay branch is paying off in a big way," said Shyian Gordon, Home Solutions' regional manager for western Jamaica.
Gordon said the company's principals initially operated Action Auto Supplies. However, they saw the need for a company offering high-quality fittings and decided to bring a branch of Home Solutions to Montego Bay.
"Our success comes from the fact that we can customise to any size our customers want," said Gordon. "In addition, we offer the best prices and our customer service is second to none. Overall, we employ 180 persons islandwide."
She added: "We have 10 employees in Montego Bay, and as we continue to grow and expand, you should see an increase in the numbers."
Buoyed by the success seen in Montego Bay, Gordon said Home Solutions, which now has locations in Savanna-la-Mar, Lucea, Ocho Rios, Mandeville, Santa Cruz, Montego Bay, and its headquarters in Negril, wants to expand overseas.
"We are definitely looking at the overseas market, but we have not yet made any firm decisions," said Gordon. "It would be great if we could duplicate the success of Montego Bay overseas."
