Band Fever hits MoBay
MONTEGO BAY, St James:Residents of St James will get their dose of Band Fever when the third concert in the series unfolds at the Fairfield Theatre in Montego Bay on Saturday, October 6 at 2 p.m.
Patrons will be entertained by bands from Herbert Morrison Technical High, Cornwall College, Montego Bay High and Pembroke Hall High, who will be making their third appearance.
Guest groups include Sam Sharpe Teachers' College as well as bass player extraordinaire Taddy P and his Blow Wow Band.
If the shows in Kingston and Ocho Rios are an indication of things to come, patrons will be in for an excellent, mouth-watering feast of live music, setting the tone for the perfect kick-off to the production of the series 'Jamaica's Best School Band'.
The competition will see 16 high-school stage bands battling for prizes such as musical instruments and equipment from Music Mart, recordings with Paul 'Computer Paul' Henton, gifts from Sangster's Book Stores, cash prizes and the right to be named Jamaica's best school band.
Band Fever will give judges an opportunity to see bands in action and do some pre-judging for the sectional prizes such as most disciplined, most outstanding musician (male and female), and best bandleader.
