ONLINE FEEDBACK
The following is feedback from Gleaner Online readers to yesterday's editorial headlined, 'Where is the Government? Administration lost in a maze'. Add your voice to the conversation by emailing us at letters@gleanerjm.com.
out of their league
In my humble opinion, the three most important ministers in this People's National Party Government are way out of their league and they should do the honourable and patriotic thing and resign. They are the minister of finance, the minister of national security and the prime minister. The quicker they vacate office, the better the chances for Jamaica.

bad karma
One can't help but call 'karma' on this one! The PNP of PJ, Omar, Peter and Portia sank us in debt during their 18-year run. So it is 'judgement' that they are more or less the same ones now tasked with getting us out of this mess.

peter is like pilate
This is probably one of the reasons why Finance Minister Peter Phillips warned of Jamaica becoming an English-speaking Haiti. He knew Portia Simpson Miller's position and mentality, but he himself is like Pilate in the crucifixion drama. He knows the truth, yet he throws up his hands. Whatever happens over the next four years, he will be just as responsible as the prime minister.

Story come to bump!
I guess the truth cannot be dressed up any longer. Now what?

jlp time now
Put the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) back in power so they can put off the 'bitter medicine' like they did before.

unqualified doctor
You give Dr Phillips a lot of credit, in my opinion. He sure seems to understand what needs to be done. At least he sounds like he does. But knowing what to do and having the technical ability to do it are two different things. Could it be that the goodly doctor is also out of his depth?

enough already
It appears to me The Gleaner is beating a dead horse!

what more can pnp do?
The PNP is in a bind. What are its options? Can it do what the JLP did when it was in a similar position 2008-09? Can it shore up confidence the way Audley Shaw said he was doing with the patently false "recession will not affect us" quote? No. The very same Shaw is now on the airwaves doing his best to undermine confidence.
What can the PNP do? It can do what it should have done before 2007 and what the JLP never did during its term. It should ignore the noisemakers because if what needs to done were easy and could be done overnight, it would have been done already. Also, if the exact makeup of the 'bitter medicine' were all that important, people would have demanded it and not been content with a vague promise.

hopeless gov't
Let's hope the Government hears all the cries and finally decides to do something in response. The truth is, though, this is highly unlikely.
