WESTERN BUREAU:

A St James man, who confessed to breaking into a printing office and stealing three computers, was remanded in custody in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on Monday.

Kino Jackson, who is of an Albion Lane address in Montego Bay, pleaded guilty to office breaking and larceny and will be brought back to court for sentencing on February 27.

Prior to his return to court, Jackson will have a social enquiry report done on him. This is to assist the judge to determine the type of sentence he will get for his act of indiscretion.

Reports are that on January 13, Jackson and other persons broke into the Montego Bay-based office and stole the appliances. Sometime afterwards, the police went on an operation in search of the robbers and Jackson was pointed out. He was subsequently arrested and charged.

"Did you take anything out of the place?" Resident Magistrate Sheron Barnes asked Jackson in court on Monday.

"Yes, three computers," Jackson replied without hesitation.

"Do you know what happened to them?" the magistrate enquired of Jackson.

"The persons that I went with took them," said Jackson. "When I asked for them, they didn't say anything to me."

Barnes ordered that Jackson be remanded in custody until February 27, at which time his relatives are expected to put in an appearance in court. She also asked for a social enquiry report giving details on Jackson to be prepared.

"You can do better than what you are doing," RM Barnes admonished Jackson as she ordered that he be taken back into police custody. "You're too intelligent; we need your brain."
