Western Bureau:Negril-based party promoter and businessman Gregory Senior, who is responsible for the Easter weekend party series West Affair, slated for March 29-31, is offering discounted tickets.

"Entertainment activities are not immune to the economic challenges facing Jamaica, but I believe Jamaicans still want to have a good time through parties and get away from the stress of it all," said Senior, who is also head of the Canadian-based Papernote Entertainment Group.

He said the ticket prices had been slashed by as much as 25 per cent.

Last year, the promotions group's all-inclusive season band was $8,000, which will now cost $6,000, and they have increased the number of events for this year.

"A reduction in price does not mean we have cheapened the event. In fact, we added an extra event in order to continue our efforts to offer a value-added experience for patrons. The only way you stand out is to offer variety at an affordable rate. There is another event that will be taking place during the same time as ours, therefore, it's the value-added that will make a difference at the end of the day," Senior said.

West Affair was rebranded from a single-night event to a party series in 2012. Since the staging of the event, the team of western Jamaica promoters has pumped over $5 million into the local resort town to stage the events.

West Affair will feature Beach Madness on March 29 at Bourbon Beach, Pre Fantasy Boat Cruise in the afternoon of March 30, and Burn VI later on the same day at Chances. The final day - March 31 - will see Splaash at Ray's Water Sports in the afternoon and Bikini Malibu Bourbon Beach in the night.
