Western Bureau:At a time when several events are struggling to attract patrons, the popular Uberblue, which was recently staged at the Pier One Complex in Montego Bay, turned out to be a notable exception, attracting a larger gathering of revellers.

With its two-tier VIP section and DJ booth enticingly illuminated with blue neon lights and a giant Appleton sign that could be seen clearly from the nearby Howard Cooke Highway, there was every indication that the organisers wanted to make a bold statement that their party was an occasion worth experiencing.

Vowing never to repeat a concept, the promoters outlined that it is their unique set-up and themes for each event which continue to attract repeat patrons and international guests who have embraced the vision of the event,

Interestingly, the VIP patrons had the choice of partying in two areas of the venue while enjoying all-inclusive treats of high-end liquor and food, which have become synonymous with the staging of the event.

"Given the nature of this business of entertainment, there has to be something different each time a patron come to your event so as to keep them interested and eager to be a part of the experience," said a release from Musk Entertainment, the promoter of Uberblue.

RAW ENERGY

Under the musical influence of DJ Crazy Neil, Timeless, and Sani, the early partygoers got a chance to demonstrate their carnival readiness as they danced and gyrated with raw energy to anything that had an up-tempo or soca beat.

DJ Nicco, the recent Red Bull 'Thre3style' winner, was unwavering in his bid to ensure patrons enjoyed themselves, dishing out pulsating soca mixes and dub-step infusion, which clearly made him the stand-out selector.

"We thought the theme was appropriate … . We are now in the carnival season, so it was a natural fit," the Uberblue release added. " Jamaicans love carnival, and it was indicative of the support that we got, but the event's success would not have been possible without our long-time sponsor J. Wray & Nephew through its products Appleton, Kirvov, and Coco Mania."

According to Uberblue, the continued support of the sponsors was primarily responsible for lifting the event to where it is, getting bigger and better with each staging.
