WESTERN BUREAU:It is that time of year again when the fans of oldies are once again bubbling with anticipation ahead of the year's first staging of the bi-annual Off Tha Wall Retro Party, which is set to be held at Pier One complex on Saturday, May 25.

Like all the previous stagings, this time around patrons will be treated to the hits of '70s, '80s, and '90s.

"As usual, the buzz is on in a big way, as this is one of the few opportunities where the revellers from back in the days can come and expect to have a good time in an atmosphere of peace and love," said businessman Nash Lawson, CEO of After 10 Promotions and the promoter of the event.

According to Lawson, the event has become as popular among the youthful party fans as it has been with the veterans since its inception.

"It is really nice to see the youngsters coming out and having as much fun as the oldsters, who are basically reliving what we experienced as youngsters in the 1970s and 80s," said Lawson. "Since we have not chosen to change the concept to facilitate the youngsters, it means we are giving them an education in the party culture of the '70s, '80s and '90s."

Lawson, who operated under the moniker DJ Turbo as a selector in the 1980s, will be at the control tower alongside DJ Marvin and DJ Donavan Dacres of FAME FM.

"This is definitely going to be the most dazzling juggling party fans will see in a long time," said Lawson. "I personally can't wait to get behind the turntables."

There will be special liquor deals from the main sponsors.

"One of the main features of Off Tha Wall is that we always promote responsible behaviour, so what we are basically about is good, clean fun," said Lawson. "Our patrons don't fuss and fight, they unite and enjoy themselves."
