WESTERN BUREAU:Students of the Salvation Army Basic School in Montego Bay got a special treat for Child's Month from members of the Montego Bay-based modelling agency IKR Models recently.

The children were feted by the members of the agency who engaged them in several activities which included face-painting. The children were also given educational materials, including exercise books and pencils.

Chinoy Henry, chief executive officer of IKR Models, told Western Focus that the event was the group's first outreach activity.

CHARITY EVENT

"My team and I came out and decided we were going to put on a little charity event for the Salvation Army Basic School. May is Child's Month, so we're ensuring that these children and those that are less fortunate are well taken care of," said Henry. "It is our first charity event, and we're definitely going to do some more in the coming years."

Principal of the Salvation Army Basic School Angela Phillips expressed gratitude to the IKR Models team for holding the event for the children.

"The children have certainly enjoyed the event," Phillips said. "I want to say thank you to the IKR Models company, and I hope and trust that the Lord will bless the company so that they can give to others."
