HANOVER:The Grand Palladium resort bade farewell to outgoing Director of Human Resources, Rodcliffe Robertson, last week Friday.
Robertson had been with the entity from its inception five years ago.
"This is just the close of a chapter to open new avenues for personal development and new challenges. I am pursuing personal projects, part of which is human resources and training consultancy. Incidentally, Palladium is my biggest client," Robertson told Western Focus.
Robertson said during his tenure he established a training culture, which included a six-week training programme for the training of new staff.
"It was an excellent learning experience that gave me the opportunity to assist a wide cross section of people in the parish of Hanover.
"My greatest achievement there, though, is keeping the staff turnover rate to a minimum because despite the complaints, people were happy to be there," he added.
transitional period
Robertson is succeeded by Juan Martinez Solomon.
"It is a great pleasure to be here and to be (so) welcomed. I appreciate the Jamaican culture and friendship. There is a transitional period of a few more weeks before I take over fully," Martinez Solomon said.
Martinez Solomon said he would continue along the path set by Robertson, with the training and development of staff members.
