Western Bureau:

Little London High has become the fourth school to withdraw from the 2013 ISSA/LIME daCosta Cup Schoolboy Football Competition.

The school pulled out of the competition last week because of what they described as "internal issues". Three other schools - Hopewell High, Porus High, and Albert Town High - had withdrawn earlier from the competition.

"They really have been having issues there," said a source that is close to the situation at Little London. "The players are demotivated as a result of the lack of focus, and that has been borne out on the field of play ... and the decision was taken to have the school withdraw from the daCosta Cup."

Points won against them in Zone D of the competition by Manning's School (1-0) on September 11, Grange Hill, who defeated them 8-0 on September 14, and the 2-0 loss to Knockalva Technical on September 18, are all null and void.

Grange Hill remain leaders of the zone on nine points, while former winners, Godfrey Stewart, and Manning's are next on seven (two wins and a draw). Black River High School and Knockalva have a point each.

Under ISSA guidelines, schools that have withdrawn their participation from the competition will face a fine of $10,000, with an additional $50,000 added for repayment for gears, including the jerseys, shorts, and socks.

The other three schools that quit this year's competition are Hopewell High in Zone B, Albert Town High School in Zone G, and Zone M contestant Porus High.
