A beer for every reason at Farm Village Café
Situated in Marlie Mount, Old Harbour, Farm Village Café is quickly becoming the worst-kept secret- no doubt due in part to the word-of-mouth advertising by satisfied beer lovers who have been guzzling the brew while enjoying a stimulating trek into a whole new world of beers.
As everyone knows, when it comes to Jamaicans, the name Red Stripe is synonymous with beer, and all other brands are called by their given name. At Farm Village, there is Red Stripe Beer, but there is also an unmatched selection of beers from around the world. This globe-trotting experience into a new galaxy of beers has become quite the talking point for their clientele.
There are over 20 different beers on offer at Farm Village Café and the bar counter is colourfully decorated with the flags of all the countries represented. Customers can enjoy exotic beers from as far away as Australia and other countries, including Japan, China, the Czech Republic, Belgium, India, France, Germany, Russia, Sri Lanka, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, and Ireland.
bonding experience
"Drinking a beer is almost a national pastime in so many countries and this activity is one which bonds persons on all levels. Since we are quite serious about our tag line, which says that we are the "coolest place with the hottest vibes", the owners felt the need to incorporate beer in a very big way, because there's hardly any drink that's cooler than a beer," Damian Elleston, manager of the café, told Food.
international cuisine
He added, "Our cuisine here at Farm Village is international and we realise that a beer is a drink that can be had with just about any meal. so we decided to give our customers more variety and flavour when it comes to their brew of choice."
At Farm Village Café, the chef expertly recommends to customers the beer which best complements a particular meal, while the bartenders are always willing to guide those who just want to relax and let their taste buds savour the experience.
The café serves authentic Jamaican dishes, complete with savoury island sauces, specially prepared by the master chef using his secret recipes as well as popular Chinese, Japanese, Korean and vegetarian cuisine.
"It is guaranteed that there are dishes here that will delight every palate," the manager said confidently.
The property, which also boasts an area specially designed to host entertainment events, is open seven days per week from 11 a.m. to 12 midnight.
