Update | Teen girl charged over fatal stabbing of teen boy in Portmore

The police in Portmore, St Catherine have charged the teen girl who was taken into custody over the fatal stabbing of a teen boy during a dispute in their community of Beverly Flat in Newland.

The 14-year-old girl has been charged with murder.

Dead is 15-year-old Duscane Elliot.

Reports from the Portmore police are that about 12:30 p.m. on Friday, September 5, the teen girl went to Elliot’s home and attempted to set his clothes on fire.

An argument developed between the two, during which the accused used half of a pair of scissors to inflict a stab wound to Elliot’s chest, according to the police.

The police were summoned and Elliot was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The 14-year-old was later arrested and gave a caution statement admitting to the crime, according to the police.
