Last Wednesday's Ghett'a Life premiere was a black-carpet affair outside the Carib Cinema in Cross Roads, St Andrew. A large number of people turned out for the film, filling two auditoriums at the multi-screen facility.

Ghett'a Life is written, directed and produced by Chris Browne. Other members of the team include Natalie Thompson, line producer; an editing team headed by Joel Burke; Justine Henzell, co-producer; and Bobby Bukowski, director of photography; among others.

The film is about one young man's boxing ambitions crossing long-held political allegiances in the community of Dungle, filming locations including Rose Town, Allman Town, Grants Pen, Mountain View and Southside.

Maurice Facey and Tony Hart are executive producers of Ghett'a Life and the cast includes Carl Davis (councillor hopeful Lenford), Karen Robinson (Lenford's wife, Dawn), Kevoy Burton (the couple's son and lead character, Derrick), Christopher McFarlane (Don Sin), Winston 'Bello' Bell (Coach Manuel), Lisa Williams (Manuel's granddaughter, Camella), Odane Oliver (Derrick's friend, Big Toe), Kadeem Wilson (Gully Rat), Teddy Price (Bruising Gym owner/manager Jingles) and Lenford Salmon (MP Hewlett).
